CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
15th July 2020
We're pleased to announce we have now been able to source and get fit-tested for FFP3 masks, meaning we can now offer a more comprehensive service to include Aerosol Generating Procedures i.e. using the drill and scaler.
The guidance from NHS England and the Chief Dental Officer is that we are still only to see emergency appointments and those who are deemed "higher risk" such as children and those with high decay rate. We will therefore be sending out recall reminders to those groups shortly.
If you are experiencing a problem, please call the practice on 0151 4247507. We will do our very best to give you appropriate advice over the phone and to see you as soon as possible if appropriate.
Best wishes and stay safe.
15th June 2020 Update:
We’re pleased to announce that we are now open again for face to face consultations and basic urgent treatment. Unfortunately, due to the nationwide shortage of FFP3 face masks, we are still unable to perform any treatment which is classed as an Aerosol Generating Procedure (AGP) i.e. any treatments involving the drill.
We are currently working our way through a list of patients who contacted us with dental problems during lockdown. But if you are experiencing a problem, please call the practice on 0151 4247507. We will do our very best to see you as soon as possible.
Please do not attend the practice if you do not have an appointment as we will not be able to admit you to the premises. Please always call us over the telephone first.
If you are given an appointment, more information will be given when you are booked in.
This is a difficult time for all and we appreciate your continuing patience as we do our best to get things back to normal.
With best wishes from all the staff at Dental Elements.
1st June 2020 Update:
You may be aware of the recent government announcement stating that dental practices can re-
open for treatment on 8 th June 2020, provided they are safe to do so.
We are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that when we do re-open we have everything
in place to ensure the safety of our staff and patients. Key to this process is obtaining the correct
personal protective equipment (PPE) and we are doing our best to achieve this. However, at the
current time there is a country-wide shortage of PPE for dental practices.
In view of this, we currently cannot promise that we will re-open on 8 th June. When we do re-open
for face-to-face appointments, it will unfortunately not be “business as usual”. In the immediate
term, we may only be able to offer a limited service – we may only be able to offer procedures which
do not generate an aerosol. This means not using any of our handpieces i.e. not using the drill.
Whatever format your treatment takes, please be assured that any decisions we make have been
made with the best interests of the health of our staff and patients at heart.
In the meantime, we are still here and able to offer advice if you are having any problems. If this is
the case, please call the practice during normal working hours on 0151 4247507. Also, please
regularly check our website for further updates.
Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time. We are looking forward to being able to
see you again.
With best wishes from all the staff of Dental Elements.
